Foundation Focus

I wanted to let you know about some new foundations I’ve been loving.  I used to just stick to one, but having options has been a blast! 

Primers: If you don’t already use a primer, you should. Depending on the formula, they create a smooth surface, filling in pores and fine lines for a flawless finish. Some primers are mattifying to tame oil prone skin and others are designed to create a luminous glow. Recently, I’ve been able to try Hourglass’s Veil Mineral Primer. This one is great because it reminds me of my beloved Koh Gen Do Makeup Color Base in Pearl White and also has an SPF 15, which is a need for the upcoming Summer months. It goes on white (and on me kinda blue-ish, which I like as a contrast for my warmer toned foundations). I’ve also fallen in love with Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter for the dewy glow. 

For primer application, I just use my fingers. Sometimes I’ll take my dampened beauty blender for evening out the coverage. 

On to foundations, I need full coverage. My natural face looks like I have a lupus butterfly rash all over it, so hiding that is key. Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover 24 Hour Full Coverage water-based foundation. This one is great paired with Flawless Filter and will last for a day or night out

Another great one is Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Longwear High Cover Foundation. This one has SPF 25 and I’ve been rocking this one teamed up with Hourglass Veil for the last three days and I’m digging it! Plus it’s great SPF coverage for those days you’ll be sitting in the sun but want to still look full glam.
