Morning Retouch Routine
When I am crunched for time and my makeup looks too good to wash off, I sleep in my face and wake up to the perfect palette to retouch (and save 1.5 hours). I use Tom Ford Waterproof Foundation and Concealer with his Illuminating Primer set with both Hourglass Translucent Powder and MAC Studio Fix Plus Powder, so my glam has intense staying power.
When I am ready to start, I spray Mario Badescu rose spray (I have put this in a different bottle that sprays WAY better-I am not down with facial sprays that are not a fine mist, in this case, I have replaced the Mario bottle with Natura Bisse's Diamond Mist's bottle). Then I powder my face with a large powder brush and the Studio Fix. Then I dab some under eye cream, today I used Chanel's Le Lift to re-vamp the previous day's concealer. Then I apply some more-today I used Mac Pro Longwear concealer. I let it bake for a minute while I reapply my bronzer (only the outer perimeter of my face, NEVER put bronzer on your t-zone) and then blend my concealer in with a beauty blender type sponge. I then re-blush; today I used Charlotte Tilbury's Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blush in First Love. Then I retouch my eye shadow-Perle by Chantecaille on the under brow bone and nose, cheek, lip and chin highlight, then I used Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes in Sphinx. I reapply mascara (BareMinerals Lash Dominion) and then touch up my brows (Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil) and then apply my lashes. I give the look a quick spray to set the face and call it good!
Then I move on the weave. I sleep with it in a low braid (22 inch hair is REALLY hard to keep in a top knot on my head-it flaps around and is pretty heavy, plus the tracks get bent out of shape when I sleep with my hair up) and then take it out and brush GENTLY through, applying more Awapuhi Wild Ginger (Paul Mitchell) Styling Treatment Oil. I use a 1 inch curling iron and curl in sections, starting with the bottom and working my way up. I normally curl twisting back away from my face. Then I backcomb the top to blend the tracks and spray my brown dry shampoo to conceal any scalp. I spray a little bit of Kenra 25 Hairspray (too much hairspray on fake hair causes it to dry out and break faster) and call it good-I'm re-glammed for the day!
