Happy 2020! I am so excited to share these recent products I’ve been using. A couple of weeks ago I was sent Peter Thomas Roth’s Vital-E Microbiome Age Defense Cream and Eye Cream. The product is formulated to provide a sort of protective, reparative layer over the skin to help defend against pollution and blue light. I am in front of my laptop for 8-10 hours per day and my iPhone an additional two, so blue light defense is a major plus in choosing my skin care regimen. I also live in a very populated and industrial area (next to a Boeing plant and 3 airports) which can cause major havoc on the skin’s microbiome.

A skin’s microbiome is a protective layer of good bacteria that remains on the surface of your skin. Pollution, blue light, diet, cosmetics, and more can disrupt your skins’ microbiome. I can only imagine how gross mine is with my face washing habits (not daily-read previous posts for details on that) and when I started using Peter Thomas Roth’s Vital-E products, I was highly impressed with the results. I’ve used the products for about two weeks now and see a noticeable difference. Not only in my skin, but how my makeup looks and lasts throughout the day(s).

After cleansing, I use my toner (Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence) and clinical rosacea treatment and then decided to skip all the other crap and go straight for the eye cream and moisturizer only. The texture of both is thick like butter and needs to be dissolved between the fingers before application to break down and warm up the product. Traditionally this type of texture in skin care products can be kind of greasy and make my skin looks like an oil slick-even in the dry winter months. These products, however, are FANTASTIC!

I took this picture at the end of the day. I decided to not filter/smooth my face down this time so that you can see exactly what my skin texture looks like after wearing this product for 12 hours under a fresh application of my Tom Ford Waterproof Foundation and Illuminating Primer, which normally mixed with greasy moisturizer can create basically a mirror of shine on my face after about 3 hours-especially in the summer.

The products have no scent which is kinda nice. The science-y stuff about it is the use of Gamma E Antioxidant Technology and pre/probiotics in the formula. Vitamin E is an antioxidant itself which helps fight pollution and all that other yucky stuff previously mentioned.

As far as the anti-aging claims about the formula, I can agree this does definitely diminish the appearance of my fine lines and aging. I’m not too far off from 40 now (yikes) and I am really happy that Peter Thomas Roth and Influenster chose me to send these products to (complimentary as a gift from Peter Thomas Roth) because I probably would not have tried them otherwise and I can feel confident I will be repurchasing both products when I run out and am intrigued to look into PTR’s other products as well.

If you are living in an urban area, live behind a screen, are concerned about the appearance of aging, and are in the market for some new skin care, you won’t be disappointed with Peter Thomas Roth’s Vital-E Microbiome Age Defense system.
