OPI GelColor Review

OPI GelColor Review

I struck gold this week when I had TWO Influenster VoxBox’s arrive to review. This box contained 4 shades of OPI GelColor plus the strengthening base coat and top coat. The products require a professional license for use and are cured using a professional UV lamp. I may not be a licensed nail technician, but I am a licensed cosmetologist and passed the Washington State Boards manicuring section (twice-long story) so I get the gist. I also formerly managed a nail and pedicure spa that used OPI GelColor for their “Shellac” manicures (fun fact: Shellac is actually a brand name, not a type of manicure) so I am very familiar with the procedure.

The shade names of OPI are probably the best part of the brand. I had a job as a sales associate at a beauty supply store that my coworker and I would stock the shelves of OPI for hours dreaming of the names we would create and wished our job was as cool as Suzi Weiss-Fischmann’s. Suzi is the woman who gets to name the polish colors for a living and is why a lot of the colors have the name Suzi in them.

This box contained the following shades:

“Suzi Chases Port-Geese”-(white), “You’ve Got Nata On Me”-(peach), “No Turning Back From Pink Street”-(magenta), “Tile Art To Warm Your Heart”-(blue), and the strengthening base coat and top coat.

The manicure takes 30 minutes to cure each coat and requires two coats of color. Since summer is nearing an end and I love all white nails, I tried out “Suzi Chases Portu-Geese”. I used to be a “Funny Bunny” chick, but I am now converted. This white polish was far more pigmented than any other white I have used and applied like White-Out and was not sheer.

The product states that it will provide up to 3 weeks of wear and will boost your client loyalty and profit. I can confirm that the polish does last that long!

Try OPI GelColor at your next nail appointment or if you are a tech and haven’t used OPI GelColor before, you should!

I am required to disclose that I am sent these products for free for testing purposes.
