Fresh Beauty Review-My Current Skincare Ritual

Fresh Beauty Review-My Current Skincare Ritual

Now that Fall is here, I officially ran out of my skin care from 3 years ago and needed to buy some “Fresh” products. With so many choices these days, I went with my old employer.

When I worked for Nordstrom back in 2015/2016, I was the business manager for Fresh Beauty. I was in my early 30’s and had never taken care of my skin (didn’t really need to-thank you to my genes). I am grateful to Fresh for teaching me the necessary steps to “fresh” skin-those of which I will share with you now.

(I have paid full price for all of these products and this is not a paid advertisement, however, I WISH)

For someone like me who doesn’t wash my face daily and uses heavy stage make up (always be camera ready-lol), I recommend first using an oil to slough off the day before actually washing your face. I use Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Facial Cleansing Oil with my fingers and then hop in the shower. I love how this product breaks down my war paint of makeup and rinses enough to use Fresh Soy Face Cleanser for a full cleanse. This cleanser smells like cucumbers and is gentle enough to use with a facial cleansing tool like Clarisonic or Foreo.

After my face is so clean it hurts (my skin is used to never being clean so it gets very dry), I apply Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Wash-I scrub in gently until the sugars dissolve and I leave it on as a mask for about 5 minutes. Now my face is ready to be prepped for makeup.

After cleansing, I learned it is important to use a toner or essence product. I live and work in a very urban area. Boeing factory is literally next door, SeaTac and Boeing Airports are miles away, as is the Port of Seattle and pollutants wait to enter my dirty pores. Using a toner gives your freshly cleansed skin a surface that helps fight off pollutants and has a multitude of other benefits and is often a missed step in a fully balanced skin care ritual. I recently fell in love with fresh Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence. It smells great, has a cooling effect (that one you loved as a tween-the Clean and Clear burn, but this is gentle), and wakes up and refreshes the skin.

Afterwards, it’s eye cream time. I use the fresh Black Tea Age Delay Eye Concentrate because it feels cool on my eyes after wearing my concealer which I fear I may be allergic to. (I also like to add the Black Tea Eye Serum in between makeup looks to freshen up my concealer). I use an eye cream application tool I got from La Mer and smooth out my under eye creases which are my biggest nemesis these days.

Before using any moisturizer, it’s important to use a good serum to deliver the important ingredients directly into the skin. Although I do things besides skin care to minimize the effect of fine lines, I’ve noticed my laugh lines showing a bit. It was then that I went to Sephora and got the Black Tea holiday kit and knew I had to replace my old favorite product that launched back when I was working for them, the Black Tea Age-Delay Firming Serum. I remembering being trained to apply it to the skin by pressing with your fingers and it creates a corset like lifting effect. I can attest that after using this whole system once (and drinking a lot of water) that the line I started to see is gone.

After those steps, if I am going to sleep, I use the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask or the Age Delay Cream if I am putting my makeup on for the day. My skin stays hydrated all day and the rough patches seems to be smoothing out. I may even see the redness decreasing a bit.

The whole process seems tedious, but it is soothing and works. I like fresh because not only is it effective, it isn’t overpriced for a bunch of lavish ingredients that do nothing like other brands out there.
