Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Review

I scored with another complimentary Influenster VoxBox again-this time I was sent a sample of Laura Mercier’s “new and improved Tinted Moisturizer -The Secret to Effortless Skin” along with a full sized Translucent Setting Powder (Laura’s iconic #1 setting powder) and another full sized Foundation Primer-Radiance.

Normally I am all about the full coverage (I have a very red face), so I was a bit skeptical of the Tinted Moisturizer, but I was highly impressed! I started with clean, freshly moisturized skin and applied the Foundation Primer-Radiance with my fingers all over. I liked how it set in and traditionally, radiant finish anything means shiny and my t-zone is extra oily in the summer time; this product felt like it had a finish that would grasp whatever product was applied over it. The product states that it primes and smoothes the face for makeup and I feel that it will hold up for long wear.

I applied Tinted Moisturizer (shade 3W1 which was a perfect match) with a small flat kabuki brush and was at first very impressed with how well it matched my desired skin tone. It did not, however, cover my red spots but was great for a “no makeup makeup” look. The Tinted Moisturizer states that it provides a 24-hour sheer, dewy finish (yes-confirmed!), provides broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen (yay!), and is available in 20 shades.

I finished the look with the Translucent Loose Setting Powder with a large powder brush. I love this stuff! It really does set makeup for 12 hours, helps blur imperfections (like a magic Insta filter), and helps your selfie game with no photo flashback (like I said, a magic Insta filter).

I also topped the look off with light eye shadow (Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette) and light blush (Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Rose Blusher in shade-”First Love”). I also used MAC Cosmetics Extended Play Gigablack Mascara, Benefit Cosmetic’s Gimme Brow in shade 3, and a little bit of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in shade “Custard” (I should have used the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Self-Setting Concealer for this look because it has a more dewy finish-NARS is long wearing and creates a fuller coverage finish that isn’t as dewy as the Makeup Forever finishes).

For lips I used NARS Afterglow Lip Balm in shade “Hidden Pleasure” which was a limited edition from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale bundle with shade “Orgasm” which I love better but it wasn’t near me when glamming this look. I finished off the lips a little bit of MAC Cosmetics lip pencil in shade “Soar”-blurring with my fingers; the liner was applied on top of the Afterglow..
