Transformation Tuesday-I'm Back

One day I thought I could use all over color to make my hair white blonde (Wella Illumina Koleston 10/81). This failed. I am an English/Scottish/Irish woman and cannot delete red from my natural hair no matter what I try. It turned my roots orange and it’s been a battle every week since. In this process, I ended up with a femme mullet-although Miley Cyrus looks killer with one, I don’t.

Being the skilled extensionist that I am, I had no choice but to put them back in just pull my hair back. I can’t even put my hair in a ponytail. While rocking my natural hair, I enjoyed getting my scalp healthy again and not having to worry so about sweating, but I didn’t feel that great about my appearance. Wearing my hair makes SUCH a difference to my psyche and although its 33492392 times more work, feeling great about yourself is something you should always strive to achieve.

After a month hiatus from the social media and news apps and being completely in the dark with what was happening in the world, I was able to overcome a lot of stress and learn who I truly am. I am still working with Jesus to become the best version of myself and am becoming more like Him daily and am impressed with the progress I’ve made and felt it was time to join the world again.

I’ve written about how I apply these extensions in a previous post, but these are basic Satin Strands from Sally’s. I cut them to fit my scalp as I work my way from the base of my scull upwards. I use white bonding glue. When I remove them, I lightly pull them off my head and then use a very deep conditioner to gently clean the glue out before reapplying them again.

It’s a major PIA, but I feel it’s worth it for me. Thanks for reading!
